WHAT IS CLAIMED IS: 1. A lighting system comprising: a mounting assembly configured to mount the lighting system in a portion of a room, wherein the lighting system is configured to illuminate the portion of the room; a user interface configured to accept lighting settings for the lighting system; at least one light source having at least one configurable setting based on the lighting settings from the user interface. 2. The lighting system of claim 1, wherein the at least one light source comprises a solid state light source. 3. The lighting system of claim 1, wherein the mounting assembly comprises a clamp configured to attach to a cubicle wall. 4. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising at least one diffuser. 5. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising at least one reflector. 6. The lighting system of claim 1, wherein the at least one light source is configured to provide direct illumination of a work surface. 7. The lighting system of claim 1, wherein the at least one light source is configured to provide indirect illumination toward a ceiling. 8. The lighting system of claim 1, wherein the lighting system is configured to be modular wherein a plurality of lighting modules are configured to connect together. 9. The lighting system of claim 8, wherein at least one of the plurality of lighting modules is configured as a leader to communicate settings to followers and at least one of the plurality of lighting modules is configured as a follower to accept settings from the leader. 10. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising a control system configured to configure a dimming level of the at least one light source based at least in part on an illumination level from an external light source. 11. The lighting system of claim 1, wherein the at least one light source comprises a plurality of light sources, and wherein the user interface is configured to enable grouping of lights in the plurality of light sources. 12. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising at least one occupancy sensor configured to detect an occupant near the lighting system. 13. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising at least one light sensor. 14. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising a mounting structure on which the at least one light source is mounted. 15. The lighting system of claim 14, wherein the mounting structure comprises at least one support panel mounted on at least one pivot. 16. The lighting system of claim 14, wherein the mounting structure comprises a plurality of pivots configured to allow the at least one light source to be oriented in different directions. 17. The lighting system of claim 14, further comprising at least one glare shield movably connected in the lighting system. 18. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising a heat sink. 19. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising a bus interface configured to translate commands from a computer to a bus configured to transmit the translated commands to drivers in the lighting system. 20. The lighting system of claim 1, further comprising a relay configured to switch power on and off to a plurality of lighting modules in the lighting system.
