An applicator and applicator system are provided for a topically or transdermally applying a pharmaceutical preparation or formulation. The applicator and applicator system can reduce drip during use, provide efficient transfer of a dose of the pharmaceutical preparation or formulation from the applicator to the skm of a patient, and can be used hands-free, which can reduce, prevent or eliminate cross-contamination to other areas, including undesired application to other parts of the skin or to other individuals. The applicator and applicator system include a therapeutic surface which can receive a single dose of the pharmaceutical preparation and can be manipulated by the user to transfer and apply the pharmaceutical preparation on a body surface.

An applicator system for applying a pharmaceutical preparation for topical administration having a consistency of at least 100 centipoise and less than or equal to 2000 centipoise at 25 °C to a body surface, comprising a container body containing the medicament preparation and an applicator detachably attached to the container body, wherein the applicator means comprises: The application surface is provided with an application surface capable of receiving the medical preparation of a single use amount and capable of applying the pharmaceutical preparation to a body surface, and the application surface is provided. The applicator system of claim 2, wherein the pharmaceutical formulation is a formulation having a consistency of greater than or equal to 100 centipoise and less than or equal to 900 centipoise at 25 °C. 4. An applicator system according to any of claims 1 to 3, wherein said pharmaceutical formulation is a formulation containing at least 40 w / w% of 1 or more C 1 - C 4 alcohols. 5. An applicator system according to any of claims 1 to 4, wherein the amount of use is from 0.1 mL to 1.0 mL. 6. The applicator system of claim 8, wherein a height difference between a highest portion of the application surface and a lowest portion of the application surface is in a range of 0.1 to 1.5. 10. The applicator system according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein the application surface has a substantially circular planar shape having a diameter of or more and 45 or less, or a substantially oval planar shape having a major diameter or a minor diameter of 20 or more and 45 or less. 11. An applicator system according to any of claims 1 to 10, wherein the container body comprises a bottle portion containing the medicament formulation and a pump mounted on the mouth of the bottle portion. 12. The applicator system of claim 11, wherein the application surface is configured to receive a single dose of the pharmaceutical formulation discharged from the pump. 13. An applicator system according to any of claims 1 to 12, wherein the pharmaceutical formulation is a formulation containing sofupyronium bromide used as a hyperhidrosis therapeutic. 14. An applicator system according to any of claims 1 to 13, wherein the applicator is an applicator applied to an underarm. 15. An applicator for applying a pharmaceutical formulation to a body surface, the applicator comprising an application surface capable of receiving a single use amount of the pharmaceutical formulation and capable of applying the 278626/2 pharmaceutical formulation to a body surface, wherein the application surface is adapted to be applied to the body surface. An applicator comprising : a rigid, non- porous, inelastic material, and a single concave, wherein said application surface is formed solely from an outer peripheral wall portion leading to a side of said applicator and a bottom portion surrounded by said outer peripheral wall portion, said base portion forming a single planar portion. 16. The applicator of claim 15, wherein the amount of use is from 0.1 mL to 1. mL. 17. An applicator according to claim 15 or 16, wherein said planar portion occupies 5% or more of the area of said application surface. 18. The applicator of claim 17, wherein said planar portion occupies 60% or more of an area of said application surface. 19. An applicator according to any one of claims 15 to 18, wherein a height difference between a highest portion of the application surface and a lowest portion of the application surface is in a range of 0.1 to 4.0. 20. The applicator according to claim 19, wherein a height difference between a highest portion of the application surface and a lowest portion of the application surface is in a range of 0.1 to 1.5. 21. The applicator according to any one of claims 15 to 20, wherein the application surface has a substantially circular planar shape having a diameter of or more and 45 or less, or a substantially oval planar shape having a major diameter or a minor diameter of 20 or more and 45 or less. 22. An applicator according to any of claims 15 to 21, wherein said applicator is an applicator applied to an underarm. 23. An applicator for applying a pharmaceutical formulation to a body surface of a patient in need of said pharmaceutical formulation, said applicator comprising a generally cylindrical, substantially elliptical cylindrical or substantially 278626/2 polygonal tubular side wall having a cavity defining a boundary of said cavity, said cavity having an open lower end and a closed upper end. A container or dispenser for holding a pharmaceutical formulation, wherein the outer surface of the closed upper end of the applicator comprises a central continuous planar portion and a raised peripheral portion defining a boundary of the planar portion, wherein the planar portion is configured to be releasably engaged with a container or dispenser. An applicator, comprising : a) a reservoir region ; and b) a reservoir region, wherein said planar portion and said peripheral region together form a reservoir region, and wherein said reservoir region is adapted to receive a pharmaceutical formulation dispensed into said planar portion and to retain said pharmaceutical formulation in said reservoir region. 24. The applicator of claim 23, wherein the applicator has a circular or oval planar portion inside the raised peripheral portion. 25. An applicator according to claim 23 or 24, wherein said side wall comprises a holding portion for gripping said applicator or for easily manipulating said applicator. 26. An applicator according to any one of claims 23 to 25, further comprising an overcap covering at least said planar portion of said applicator. 27. An applicator according to any one of claims 23 to 26, wherein said planar portion of said outer surface of said applicator is provided. An applicator which functions to apply ejected one or more doses of a pharmaceutical formulation to a body surface of a patient, wherein the raised periphery functions to retain the dispensed pharmaceutical formulation in the reservoir region defined by the planar portion and the peripheral portion while the pharmaceutical formulation is being administered. 28. An applicator according to any one of claims 23 to 27, wherein said body surface is an underarm skin surface of said patient. 278626/2 29. An applicator system for applying a pharmaceutical formulation to a body surface of a patient, the container containing a plurality of doses of the pharmaceutical formulation and optionally having a dispenser for dispensing the pharmaceutical formulation. A system comprising : a container or an applicator releasably engaged with the dispenser; and a generally cylindrical, substantially oval cylindrical or substantially polygonal tubular side wall defining a cavity and defining a boundary of the cavity, wherein the cavity is a substantially cylindrical or substantially polygonal cylindrical or substantially polygonal tube. An open lower end and a closed upper end, wherein the outer surface of the closed upper end of the applicator includes a central continuous planar portion and a raised peripheral portion defining a boundary of the planar portion, wherein the planar portion has an open end. An applicator system, which is rigid and non-porous, and wherein said peripheral portion together with said planar portion forms a reservoir region, and wherein said applicator portion further functions as an applicator for receiving and retaining said dispensed pharmaceutical formulation in said reservoir region and applying said same to said patient's body surface. 30. The applicator system of claim 29, further comprising an overcap engaging said applicator and covering at least said planar portion of said applicator. 31. An applicator system according to claim 29 or 30, wherein said container has a dispenser for dispensing said pharmaceutical formulation and further comprises a piston inside said container. An applicator system which slides to reduce a storage volume of contents in a container each time a single use amount is dispensed, and ultimately ejects substantially all of the medicament formulation from the container. 32. An applicator system as claimed in claim 31, wherein the container further comprises a lower end open to the environment, whereby the pressure within the container is equalized after the pharmaceutical formulation has been dispensed from the container. 33. An applicator system according to claim 29 or claim 30, wherein the container is a container. An applicator system comprising a collapsible inner liner disposed 278626/2 within a container, wherein the inner liner reduces a storage volume of contents in the container each time a single dose is dispensed and compresses the contents to ultimately expel substantially all of the pharmaceutical formulation from the container. 34. The applicator system of claim 32, wherein the container includes a lower cap that mates with the container. 35. An applicator system according to any of claims 29 to 34, wherein the container includes a pump dispenser. 36. The applicator system of claim 35, wherein the pump dispenser is a metering pump dispenser.
