A device 10 for implantation into a bone void, while minimizing the increase in pressure within the bone void, comprises a bone replacement material and has one or more longitudinal channels 30 which extend substantially the entire length of the device; the channels allowing for depressurization of the bone void during implantation of the device, for example by allowing for displacement and/or exit of the void contents. In a second embodiment a kit of parts for the production and delivery of implantable devices 10 to an intramedullary canal of a patient includes a multi-cavity flexible mould mat (60, Fig 3B), a guide tube (170, Fig 5), a pusher (110, Fig 5) for facilitating the implantation of the devices, a bone substitute powder component and a liquid component, together with apparatus for mixing the components and dispensation of the mixed components into the cavities of the mould mat, where it is allowed to cure or set.

CLAIMS 1. An implantable device for insertion into a bone void, the implantable device comprising a bone replacement material and having one or more longitudinal channels extending substantially the entire length of the device, where said one or more longitudinal channels allows for depressurisation of the bone void during implantation of the device. 2. An implantable device according to claim 1 where the one or more longitudinal channels allows for the displacement and/or exit of the void contents. 3. An implantable device according to claim 1 or claim 2 where the one or more longitudinal channels tapers in width from the exterior circumference towards 1ts central axis. 4. An implantable device according to claim 3, wherein the one or more longitudinal channels has a taper angle of about 10 degrees to about 145 degrees. 5. An implantable device according to claim 4 where the taper angle of one or more longitudinal channels is from about 20 degrees to about 50 degrees. 6. An implantable device according to any preceding claim where an opposing surface to one or more longitudinal channels has a flat surface. 7. An implantable device according to any preceding claim, wherein the device has a substantially capsule shape, having convex, domed or semispherical shaped ends and one or more longitudinal channel intersecting the surface of the device and extending the full length of the device and also extending towards the device centreline. 8. An implantable device according to any preceding claim where the displacement of the void contents reduces the pressure within the void. 9. An implantable device according to any preceding claim, wherein the device comprises bone substitute material. 10. An implantable device according to any preceding claim, where the void can be within an intramedullary canal of a patient. 11. An implantable device according to claim 10, where the void can be a defect in bone. 12. An arrangement of two or more implantable devices according to any preceding claim, comprising a plurality of the devices lined up end to end. 13. An arrangement according to claim 12, wherein the longitudinal channels are axially aligned with each other. 14. An arrangement according to claim 12, wherein the longitudinal channels are not axially aligned with each other. 15. An arrangement according to any of claims 12-14, wherein the arrangement is located in an intramedullary canal of a patient. 16. A method of making an implantable device according to any of claims 1-11, wherein the implantable device is made by either casting the implantable device in a mould, or by 3D printing. 17. A kit of parts for the production and delivery of implantable devices to an intramedullary canal of a patient; the kit of parts including a multi-cavity flexible mould mat, a guide tube, a pusher that facilitates implantable devices being freely inserted into the intramedullary canal, a bone substitute powder component and liquid component, together with apparatus to enable mixing of the components and dispensation of the mixed components to cavities in the mould mat, where it is allowed to cure or set. 18. A kit of parts according to claim 17, wherein the guide tube and/or pusher are non-rigid. 19. A kit of parts according to claim 18, wherein the guide tube is filled with one or more implantable devices. 20. An implantable device, arrangement, method or kit substantially as described herein in the description and drawings.
