A master model (11) for the production of a mold (65, 71), wherein the mold (65, 71) is for the production of an article of footwear, wherein the master model (11) comprises: (a) a first part (12), wherein the first part (12) of the master model substantially defines a rim of an entire sole element of the article of footwear; and (b) a second part (13) comprising a textured surface; wherein the first part (12) and the second part (13) are separably connected, and wherein the first part (12) and the second part (13) are produced by additive manufacturing.
2. The master model (11) according to claim 1, wherein the master model (11) is a positive model of a portion (72) of the article of footwear.
3. The master model (11) according to claim 1, wherein the master model (11) is a negative model (11) of a portion (72) of the article of footwear.
4. The master model (11) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the master model (11) is made from an activated photopolymer.
5. The master model (11) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the first part (12) comprises a textured surface.
6. The master model (11) according to one of the preceding claims, wherein the second part (13) is substantially smaller than the first part (12).
7. A method for producing a master model (11) for the production of a mold (65, 71), wherein the mold (65, 71) is for the production of an article of footwear, wherein the method comprises: (a) forming a first part (12), wherein the first part of the master model is formed such that the first part substantially defines a rim of an entire sole element of the article of footwear; (b) forming a second part (13) comprising a textured surface, (c) connecting the first part (12) and the second part (13); wherein the first part (12) and the second part (13) are formed by additive manufacturing, and wherein the first part (12) and the second part (13) are separably connected.
8. The method according to claim 7, wherein the master model (11) is formed as a positive model of a portion of an article of footwear.
9. The method according to claim 7, wherein the master model (11) is formed as a negative model of a portion of an article of footwear.
10. A method for producing a mold (65, 71) comprising: (a) producing a master model (11) according to the method of claim 7, and (b) forming a mold (65, 71) based on the master model (11).
11. A method for producing a sole element (72) comprising: (a) providing a mold (65, 71) according to the method of claim 10 (b) filling the mold (65, 71) with a curable liquid material, and (c) curing the liquid material.
12. A method for producing an article of footwear comprising: (a) providing a sole element (72) according to the method of claim 11, (b) providing a footwear upper, and (c) attaching the sole element (72) to the footwear upper.
