摘要:
Various articles, such as footwear, apparel, athletic equipment, watchbands, and the like, and methods of forming those articles are presented. The articles are generally formed, in whole or in part, using rapid manufacturing techniques, such as laser sintering, stereolithography, solid deposition modeling, and the like. The use of rapid manufacturing allows for relatively economical and time efficient manufacture of customized articles. The articles may include one or more reinforcements configured to provide added durability to various regions of the articles. In addition, the articles may be formed from two or more materials in a single rapid manufacturing process. The rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique may also include using of varying intensities of the laser to fuse material to form the articles.
技术问题语段:
The patent text discusses various methods of manufacturing articles, such as footwear and apparel, and the limitations of these methods. The technical problem highlighted is the lack of customization options and the inability to make changes to the article design without creating a new mold, which can result in costly retooling. Additionally, these methods often produce articles with wear-prone regions that cut short the useful life of the product.
技术功效语段:
The invention is about a type of footwear and a way to make it. The technical effect of this patent is to provide a more comfortable and effective shoe design that provides better support and comfort for the user.
权利要求:
1. An article of footwear, comprising: an upper configured to receive a foot of a wearer; a sole structure, connected to the upper and including: an outsole configured to contact a surface, and a midsole, the midsole further including an airbag (700) configured to provide impact attenuation and a structural insert (702) configured within the airbag and configured to provide support to the foot of the wearer, wherein the structural insert is formed using a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique.
2. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the airbag is formed of conventional airbag materials.
3. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein a shape or a configuration of the structural insert is based on specifications of the wearer's foot.
4. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the upper further includes at least one reinforcement portion.
5. The article of footwear of claim 4, wherein the reinforcement portion is formed using a non-rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique.
6. The article of footwear of claim 4, wherein the reinforcement portion is formed using a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique.
7. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the structural insert is attached to the airbag at various locations in the airbag interior to help control a shape of the airbag when the airbag is inflated.
8. The article of footwear of claim 1, wherein the structural insert aids in maintaining a desired shape of the airbag.
9. A method of making an article of footwear, comprising: forming an upper configured to receive a foot of a wearer; forming a structural insert (702) for an airbag (700) using a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique; attaching the structural insert to an airbag at various locations in an airbag interior; inflating the airbag, wherein the structural insert helps control a shape of the airbag when it is inflated; and connecting a sole structure to the upper, wherein the sole structure includes: an outsole configured to contact a surface, and a midsole, the midsole further including the airbag configured to provide impact attenuation and the structural insert within the airbag configured to provide support to the foot of the wearer.
10. The method of claim 9, wherein a shape or a configuration of the structural insert is based on specifications of the wearer's foot.
11. The method of claim 9, wherein the upper is formed to include at least one reinforcement portion.
12. The method of claim 11, wherein the reinforcement portion is formed using a non-rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique.
13. The method of claim 11, wherein the reinforcement portion is formed using a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique.
14. The method of claim 9, wherein the structural insert is customized to the needs and/or desires of the wearer.
