Various articles, such as footwear, apparel, athletic equipment, watchbands, and the like, and methods of forming those articles are presented. The articles are generally formed, in whole or in part, using rapid manufacturing techniques, such as laser sintering, stereolithography, solid deposition modeling, and the like. The use of rapid manufacturing allows for relatively economical and time efficient manufacture of customized articles. Portions of the articles may be manufactured using rapid manufacturing and those portions may be joined with portions formed using conventional, non-rapid manufacturing techniques. The methods may also include performing a scan of an appropriate body part of a user, such as a foot, in order to create a customized article of footwear for the user.

A method of manufacturing a sole structure for an article of footwear, comprising: forming a midsole by a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique, wherein the midsole includes a void formed therein, and wherein one or more fluid-filled bladders are received in the void formed in the midsole, and wherein the midsole is exposed to an infiltrate; forming a footwear outsole using a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique, wherein a bottom side of the outsole is formed to include texture by the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique, wherein the texture is provided to increase traction for the wearer; and engaging the midsole with the outsole or integrally forming the midsole with the outsole using the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique. 2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the step of forming the midsole further includes forming texture along a heel, lateral, or medial side of the midsole. 3. The method according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the method includes the step of: engaging the midsole with the outsole using an adhesive. 4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique for forming the midsole includes laser sintering. 5. The method according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein the method includes the step of: integrally forming the midsole with the outsole using the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique. 6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique for forming the midsole includes solid deposition modeling. 7. The method according to claim 1, wherein the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique for forming the midsole includes stereolithography. 8. The method according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the step of forming the footwear outsole includes fusing powders or particles of plastic, metal, or ceramic together using laser energy. 9. A method of manufacturing a shoe, comprising: manufacturing a sole structure according to any one of claims 1-8; and engaging the sole structure with an upper. 10. A sole structure for an article of footwear, comprising: a midsole formed by a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique, wherein the midsole includes a void formed therein, and wherein one or more fluid-filled bladders are received in the void formed in the midsole, and wherein the midsole is exposed to an infiltrate; and a footwear outsole formed using a rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique, wherein a bottom side of the outsole is formed to include texture by the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique, wherein the texture is provided to increase traction for a wearer, and wherein the footwear outsole is engaged with or integrally formed with the midsole. 11. The sole structure according to claim 10, wherein the midsole further includes texture formed along a heel, lateral, or medial side of the midsole. 12. The sole structure according to claim 10, wherein the midsole is integrally formed with the outsole using the rapid manufacturing additive fabrication technique. 13. The sole structure according to claim 10, wherein the midsole is engaged with the footwear outsole using an adhesive. 14. The sole structure according to claim 13, wherein the footwear outsole includes powders or particles of plastic, metal, or ceramic fused together using laser energy. 15. An article of footwear, comprising: a sole structure according to any one of claims 10-14; and an upper engaged with the sole structure.
