摘要:
Connecting shelving (28-30) and other hanging components (hanging baskets, boxes, prongs and Perspex display holders) to a backing board (27) without the need to permanently fix by screws or have large and unsightly brackets gives the impression of floating shelves as the interlocking pieces are hidden within the back board and the shelf. The shelves have a pre fitted protruding aluminium extrusion piece that fits into and locks into a dovetail piece that is pre-installed into a pre-cut triangle groove in the backboard (27). The backing board has a number of pre-cut grooves (to suit customer requirements) running the length of the board that are filled with the dovetail extrusions. The shelves can be removed without tools, can take significant weight and cannot be accidently dislodged.

THE CLAIMS DEFINING THE INVENTION ARE AS FOLLOWS:
1. An anchoring system for use in an adjustable storage or display system in a commercial or residential application, the system comprising:
a substantially upright member comprising a groove configured to retain an
extrusion,
an extrusion configured to be retained in the groove, the extrusion comprising a
channel extending thereinto, the channel angled downwardly into the member, the
channel having an upper wall and a lower wall, the upper wall having a recess
disposed therein, and
an insert configured to be inserted into the channel of the extrusion, the insert
comprising a first region and a second region, the first and second regions being
separated by a bend in the insert, the first region having an upper face with an
engaging member extending therefrom, the engaging member configured to engage
with the recess in the channel upper wall, the second region configured to extend
outwardly from a surface of the substantially upright member and configured to
attach to an attachable item selected from the group consisting of: a substantially
planar member, a shelf, a hanging rod, a hook, a box, a basket, a perspex display
holder and a prong.
2. The anchoring system of claim 1 wherein the channel and the insert are configured such that the region of the insert comprising the engaging member is insertable into the channel, and when inserted into the channel the insert is pivotable on a pivot point of the channel such that the engaging member is moveable into the recess of the channel thereby locking the channel and insert together.
3. The anchoring system of claim 2 wherein the pivot point of the channel is the edge of the lower wall of the channel at the open end of the channel.
4. The anchoring system of claim 2 or claim 3 wherein the insert pivots in response to a downward force applied at or about the terminus of the insert distal to the upright member.
5. The anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 4 wherein the insert comprises a stop member extending therefrom, the stop member configured such that upon insertion of the insert, the stop member contacts the substantially upright member or the extrusion thereby preventing further insertion so that that the engaging member and recess are aligned
6. The anchoring system of claim 5 wherein the stop member is configured as a depth gauge to facilitate the correct fitting of the insert into an attachable item and the channel.
7. The anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 6 wherein the bend in the insert causes the first region to extend downwardly, and the second region to extend horizontally, or downwardly.
8. The anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 7 wherein the bend in the insert forms an angle of 162 degrees + 18 degrees between the first and second regions
9. The anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 8 wherein the insert is removable from the channel by the sequence of firstly lifting the second portion and secondly pulling the insert outwardly from the channel.
10. The anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 8 wherein the second region is configured to function as a shelf.
11. The anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 10 wherein the extrusion has a dovetail shape
12. A method for anchoring an insert into an upright member, the method comprising the steps of:
providing the anchoring system of any one of claims 1 to 11, and
inserting the insert of the system into the channel of the system.
